Our first annual picnic held in Bubb Bark turned out to be a real winner. Don't have a final count, but 3-400 seems to be the talking point. the Mr. Softee Ice Cream line lasted for almost the full two hours and even had to be cut off at thend. The alternative "Non-Dairy" treats were sold out two in the last ten minutes. Page McDonald's Plant Based Food table also did a land office business with cookies, bars and various nut-milk smaples.
In the games department, the bubbles were a big hit with the little ones, badminton fought a bit of a battle against the prevailing winds, and the ping pong table was quite active.
The band was gerat and their lead singer quite impressive. Who knows when we might see them on America's Got Talent!
Hugo nd the CERT team brought over the Command Post Trailer for everyone to see how it is set up and can function as a communications and information hub if power is lost after an earthquake. Maybe you picked up one of the How To Prepare flyers, or learned how to shut off the gas supply to your house if necessary.
A great big THANK YOU to Kavita, Ann, Kim, Pam & Andy, Ben, Toni, Allison and Hugo for organizing it all.
So enjoy the pictures below.
