BPMDS Iron Chef Letter "S" 9/27/19

What a swing from record breaking heat on Wednesday to grab-your-sweater on Friday. But it made for a delightful potluck with 45 people and 5 dogs representing 20 families. We could tell we were into fall because not only was it cooler, but when we were closing up in twilight, it was only 7:18.

The real fun tonight was the wonderful assortment of Letter "S" dishes. Lots of singles - Salad, Sausage, Spinach dip, Scrumptious chicken, Saffron rice and Sushi; then on to doubles - Spicy Sausage, and Salsa & Snack chips; a triple - Spiral pasta with Smoked Salmon; and the grand daddy of them all, the 5 "S" winner - Sushi bowl with Seaweed, Sauce and Sesame Seeds! Congratulations to Eric Anderson for that one.

A continuing "Thank You" to George Jacob (88 years young on 8/24/19) for driving his van to pick up all the tables, ladders, and setup stuff from Rick & Doreta Strotman, and delivering it back at the end of the evening. And a special thanks to everyone who pitched in to fold up table cloths and tables and get them over the fence to George's van as dusk fell.

The big, red-topped plastic box is now reloaded and ready for a potluck of 100 - maybe we'll have one in October, or maybe it will be next spring.
