A week of near record heat broke just in time for a most enjoyable and relaxed BPMDS Potluck In The Park. Filtered sun with both a temperature and a wind you didn't notice, but were just right to keep us comfortable. That brought a modest but happy crowd together while many were off for an extended July 4th weekend. Yet, about 32 folks, representing 13 families gathered for the fun --- and 7 well behaved and stalwart dogs rounded out the group. Why I don't think there was a single bark the whole evening!

We welcomed the first-time family of Merry Yen & Ben, plus new baby who was a given lots of welcome hugs and huddles. It's always nice to add some new folks. It's also great to see the kids go off and ride bikes and play ball without constant supervision by parents. All in all, that made for a very relaxing evening.

And yes, there was good food too. Ryan Patterson got top honors for a kid-cooked dish with his goat cheese brie topped with plums. Delicious! Another special treat was a bowl of home-made meat balls -- sorry we didn't gt the gret cook behind them too.

We'll be aiming for another Potluck around the end of July and hopefully we'll get most of the 24 familes who said they couldn't make this one! So enjoy the pictures, and see you next time. If you'd like an original image, just email Rick at vanmells@ix.netcom.com
