BPMDS Grillin and Chillin Potluck 7/18/14

If you missed this one, you missed a special one. Everything that the Bubb Park Mothers & Dogs Society was ever meant to be was here in spades. For openers, ignore the ideal temperatures, gentle breeze, and soft sunset. We had the oldest, and newest, dogs on hand: Teak, at 17 years and 2 months is the last original dog of BPMDS, but was polite to welcome irresistible new 4 month old Golden Retriever Lilah.

We had founding members Pam & Chris Lehner (and their son and grandson)who welcomed Rick & Sandy onto Begen Avenue in 1987 with a basket of goodies and a list of neighbors up and down the block. To this day, the BPMDS email group list that you get is titled "Begen." Even more fun is new members showing up, like Cindy Boardman with a new Bubb Kinder this fall. And, hey, you have to believe that Leo (the Lion) Lindahl will one day be clicking pics and posting stuff about how these old foggies once fed him at Bubb Park!

Total it all up and it comes out like this: 70 people, representing 28 families, with 13 wonderful dogs made it happen. No wonder home sale prices have gone nuts -- who wouldn't want to live here!

But before you just go bonkers, drooling over the pictures, and cursing that you haven't been to every potluck, remember this commercial announcemnet: There are many people and many ways our special neighborhood is nourished and you can help by supporting them. Three big ones are the CPNATALK Yahoo group that most all of us are already part of, then, closer to home, are the two leaders who take the pulse and stand the watch for us all. That's Sarah Donahue as our CPNA Newsletter Editor, and Hugo Penafiel as our CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) leader. Pass story ideas to Sarah, and volunteer for CERT activities.

A BPMDS potluck is a moment where all umteen jillion of us Type A folks right here stand a chance of a sane conversation, and maybe a hug with a friend or neighbor. It's just very nice people, getting to know each other, with maybe, (can there be anything better) the lick of a young Golden Retriver.
