We started off the 2013 Bubb Park Mothers & Dogs Society Potlucks in the Park in fine style. We had warm temperatures, sunnmy skies with the sun filtered by the redwood trees, and light winds which made for a perfect evening. That drew out about 62 people from 22 families to enjoy each other's company - the list is below.

A special thanks to George Jacob (who is just 4 weeks strong on a new replacement knee) who drove his big blue van around to pick up tables and supplies for our set up, then came back to take things back. Also thanks to Doreta Strotman and Vera Kark whose tables held the bounty brought forth. While some arrived early and stayed late, a few just stopped by to wave or grab a piece of cake.

We had a good mix of familiar faces and new ones too which allowed old friends to catch up, and to make new ones. Two different comments stood out from the warm feel of the evening. The first was the appreciation for a shceduled opportunity to just get together when everyone seems so scheduled that casual dinners are all too rare. The second was from a new family who had just moved into the neighborhood. Her family had been looking for a neighborhood and had read an article that described our area as one that had "family values and where neighbors knew neighbors." Having settled in on Hans, she remarked that the reality was even better than the description. That's just what it's all about. We even got to take a good 2013 group picture.
